Bio
Kris has quickly made her mark as an artist in operatic and concert works. In October of 2018 she performed a sold out concert at the Wabash Honeywell House choosing pieces from a variety of composers such as Dvorak, Bach and Handel. In March of 2017, she was a quarter-finalist in the Harold Haugh Light Opera Vocal Competition in Jackson, Michigan. In 2016, she gave her debut performance on the Honeywell Center's Ford Theatre stage performing classics from The Sound of Music and West Side Story in "A Grand Time" a multi-piano extravaganza!
While studying voice at Indiana Wesleyan University she was awarded the Grand Prize winner of the National Association of Teachers of Singing Competitions from 2010-2013. Also winning the 2012-2013 Marion Philharmonic Orchestra Concerto/Aria Competition. She has performed as guest soloist with conductors such as Maestro Alexander Platt, Dr. Todd Guy and Dr. Michael Dennis.
Kris has enjoyed a variety of opera performances including the roles of Donna Anna in scenes from Don Giovanni, The Countess from The Marriage of Figaro, Madame Goldentrill from The Impresario and Mother Gertrude in Hansel and Gretel.
She has participated in master classes with renowned performers and teachers such as Shirley Close, Paul Keisgen, Donald Miller and Stephen Robertson.
Kris enjoys giving recitals and MasterClasses to Jr. & High School choirs to better prepare students for ISSMA competitions.
She is excited to announce that she has just released her first album, "Songs of Assurance". This CD focus' on hymns of the Christian faith that provide peace and comfort. During our times of struggles and pain we can be reminded that God still loves and cares for us. She enjoys performing on stage in operas, musicals and giving concerts and recitals. She shares her love of music with students out of her private studio in Wabash, Indiana. She and her husband Rick dearly love taking care of their grandson, Jadon.
